Out of the toybox
Rainy afternoons call for a game that gets everybody moving across the rug. We took the Sesame Street friends from our favorite toys and put them onto sturdy dice. You roll the pieces, see what character and movement turn up, and get right to acting.
Rolling the character
One block features Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Oscar, Abby Cadabby, and Grover on the faces. Kids recognize the familiar faces immediately, so nobody needs to read a single word to know who they get to be.
Acting out the move
The other block holds the action. Toss both across the floor and see what comes up, then hop like Elmo or spin like Big Bird while the rest of the living room watches and plays along.
Living room floor play
The whole setup fits in a small box that travels well to Grandma house or stays on the coffee table. When wet weather keeps everyone indoors, clear a patch of carpet and start taking turns rolling.
Simple family rounds
Rounds move as fast as players can toss the blocks and jump around. A solo player can roll for fun, or the whole family can gather around the rug and take turns acting out combinations.
